Doe re me fa so la ti doe…I’m really getting into this singing thing.  I had my mid-term singing assignment tonight.  We performed our songs that we’ve been working on.  I did “Honey Bun” from “South Pacific”.  It went well-  there were some vocal concerns I had with my performance relating to not breathing enough, but all and all- it went pretty darn good.  I actually got up in front of an audience and sang as well as performed the hell out of it  I’m in a very different place with my singing than I was three months ago, that’s for sure!  I’m beginning to feel more and more confident, which is HUGE for me.  I realized that I was picking the wrong material before that didn’t fit my voice.  I was trying to sound like someone I’m not… interesting.

Also, on the acting- front, I’ve been so pre-occupied with my “Glee” audition, that I forgot to mention that I was able to act with Shirley Jones last week!!!  It was SO SUPER exciting!!!  She’s been one of my idols since I was a kid- from her musical theatre days (LOVE “OKLAHOMA!”)  So, this opportunity came up thru a friend to work with her!  She and her husband Marty Ingles are working on a reality show pilot, and needed a little bit part for it.  Long story short, it was a freebie in the $ aspect, but to experience working with one of my IDOLS!!!  PRICELESS!!!!  BTW- I LOVE HER!!!  She’s a SWEETHEART!!!  Enjoy the shot I got of her, Marty and my “daughter” played by Annie.
